Joe Mazzulla Named Boston Celtics Permanent Head Coach

Joseph Mazzulla has been the Celtics' interim head coach since replacing Ime Udoka last September. On Thursday, March 2, 2023, the team officially announced Mazzulla's permanent appointment, removing the "interim" designation.
Mazzulla's Coaching Journey
Mazzulla, who also played for the Celtics from 2016 to 2019, began his coaching career as an assistant with the Maine Red Claws of the NBA G League in 2019. In 2021, he joined the Celtics as an assistant coach and was promoted to interim head coach in September 2022 after Udoka was suspended.
